About Us.
Hi. I'm Beth Myers and I have been a licensed Real Estate Broker in New Mexico since 2014. I became a Qualifying Broker in 2016 and at that time opened my office, Rafter Cross Realty. We are located in Lea County, in the Southeastern part of New Mexico where we do the majority of our business. Due to our close proximity to Texas, I also became a Texas Broker in 2020 and serve both states. In 2020 I also became an approved instructor for the New Mexico Real Estate Commission where I began by teaching the yearly required Core Course. In 2024 I also became an approved Education Sponsor with the New Mexico Real Estate Commission and hence Rockin' RE (Real Estate) was born. As we continue to grow we will be adding more courses and scheduling opportunities so please join our email list below to stay up to date on our current offerings. About the Instructor.
Beth Myers
I began my teaching career in 2003 after graduating from Eastern New Mexico University with a B.B.A. with a triple major in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, and Business Education. I student taught in the Tech Lab at Lovington High School in Spring 2003. Following graduation from ENMU I began graduate school at Texas Tech University in Lubbock in Summer 2003, completing a M.A. in English Literature in May 2004, a M.Ed. in Instructional Technology in August 2006, and a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature (American & British Literatures) in December 2010.
During my graduate studies I taught freshman composition and sophomore literatures courses at Texas Tech and technical writing at Lubbock Christian University. I also later taught online college courses and various English and business courses at New Mexico Junior College.
Although I was trained as a high school teacher and loved teaching at the college level, when I moved back to New Mexico, I ended up getting additionally certified in Elementary Education. I taught elementary reading for the Tatum Schools from 2009-2011 and kindergarten in the Lovington from 2013-2014 before making the transition to real estate in 2014.
As a Realtor I hold numerous designations including the very prestigious ALC (Accredited Land Consultant) and the GRI. I also have my ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative), SRS (Seller Representative Specialist), PSA (Pricing Strategy Advisor), SFR (Short Sales & Foreclosures), and e-Pro professional designations through the National Association of Realtors.
As someone who is trained in education and has a passion for curriculum development and online instructional development, teaching continuing education courses was the perfect next transition. I look forward to seeing you in class.
